Last updated: 2026-08-13
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how DR Checker ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit drchecker.org, create an account, submit a domain, or use our related services.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following information:
- Domain query data — Domains and URLs you submit, normalized domain names, Domain Rating results, query and update timestamps, and historical rating records.
- Account information — Your name, email address, profile image, authentication provider identifiers, language preference, and account creation or update timestamps.
- Transaction information — Order, subscription, payment status, product, amount, currency, and billing-related records. Payment card details are processed by payment providers; we do not store complete card numbers.
- Usage and technical data — IP address, browser and device information, pages and features used, referral or campaign information, request logs, errors, and security events.
- Communications — Information you provide when contacting support or otherwise communicating with us.
Domain Queries and Public Results
DR Checker is built around public website metrics. A domain you submit and its related rating, history, timestamps, category, and other non-personal metadata may be stored and displayed publicly on the homepage, domain detail pages, leaderboards, discovery pages, comparisons, badges, or similar product surfaces.
Do not submit confidential hostnames, private network addresses, internal URLs, or any domain information you do not want processed or potentially displayed publicly. We do not publicly identify the person who submitted a domain unless that person separately chooses to publish identifying information.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Process domain checks and obtain Domain Rating data.
- Cache, refresh, save, compare, and display domain results and history.
- Operate accounts, authentication, followed domains, credits, subscriptions, and other requested features.
- Process payments, maintain transaction records, and provide customer support.
- Secure the service, enforce usage limits, prevent fraud and abuse, and diagnose errors.
- Understand product usage and improve reliability, usability, and performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions such as authentication, session security, and language preferences. When analytics or advertising services are enabled, those providers may also use cookies or similar identifiers to measure visits, sessions, device information, approximate location, and interactions. You can control cookies through your browser and, where available, consent controls, although disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the service from working.
Third-Party Services
We use service providers to operate DR Checker. Depending on the features you use and the configuration active at the time, these may include:
- Ahrefs, which receives the submitted domain or URL and returns Domain Rating data.
- Hosting, database, caching, security, and infrastructure providers.
- Authentication providers, such as Google, when you choose a third-party sign-in method.
- Analytics and advertising providers, such as DataFast, OpenPanel, Google Analytics, or Plausible, when enabled.
- Payment processors, such as Stripe, Creem, or PayPal, when you purchase a paid service.
- Email and customer-support providers used to deliver messages and respond to requests.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We share only information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, measure, or support the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal and accounting obligations, and enforce agreements. Domain results and historical metrics may be retained for product history, caching, public comparison, and data integrity even when they are no longer associated with a user account. Cached copies may remain temporarily after the underlying record changes.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted transmission and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you are responsible for using a strong password and protecting your account credentials.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may update available account details through the service or contact us to submit a request. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Deleting personal information does not necessarily require removal of non-personal facts about a publicly accessible domain, historical Domain Rating data, transaction records we must retain, or de-identified and aggregated information.
International Processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Children's Privacy
DR Checker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised version and update the date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the service when appropriate.
